Long Time No See!

Hello, hello, my lovely followers. How are, um, all four of you today? I'm Ok, thanks for asking. So, I realized I haven't posting at all since last April, and I kind of died inside. I am reeeaaalllyyyy sorry for that, and I'm mega surprised you didn't un-follow me. Probably because you CAN'T unfollow a blog. At least not in my very low techy capabilities. I'm going to try my hardest to keep this going, keep it interesting, that kinda thing. I came up with a name for ya guys! It's "My Dozens." I know what you're thinking: "She doesn't even have 6 followers" Well, stop sippin on the haterade. It has to do with my name.
Now onto baking-related things. It was my friend Carolines birthday today, so i made my advisory cookies. She loves these vegan chocolate chip cookies that I ALSO love. Their fab. But, (sorry cline) I didn't have time to make those puppys. So, instead, a Pintrest-found cookie recipe was made. I'll post the recipes and pics tomorrow or Monday, I can't do them now because i have typed a lot and your all probably bored out of your minds, and the cookies have all been eaten. So, thats all I have to say today! Happy Baking! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAROLINE (if you aren't already, go follow her own blog http://youngandpolished.blogspot.com, its really good!) So from my oven to yours, I wish you all happy, happy, baking!

Restaurant and Bakery Reviews!

Hey there, sorry I haven't been on in a while, but I've been busy!! So, today I'm here to talk about my new project.... Bakery and restaurant reviews!!!! I'll start with bakery's and restaurants I was at on my vacation last week, in FL!! So here's the first restaurant and bakery review from my first night in FL... Name: Cafe (something or other)
Menu: the menu was more for adults and seafood lovers (i am neither) but after much hunting I finally found udon noodles with spiced chicken, cilantro and lime.
Dish (appearance): The udon noodles were thick, with a creamy green sauce on them that looked a bit like pesto. The chicken was ground and browned with some tomatoes, garlic, and SPICY spices mixed in. The meat was put in the center of the plate, over the noodles. Nothing too extravagant
Dish (taste): The noodles were citrusy and creamy, a pretty good mixture, but the sauce was very messy and spilled on my dress a lot... The chicken was VERY spicy but overall delicious, and paired well with the noodles once eaten together. But of you had too much of the chicken, then it was spice city. I downed probably three waters thought this dish!
Restaurant appearance: the view was nice, of downtown Naples. The tables and chairs were draped in white, fancy cloth that made me nervous to spill on, but were still appropriately swanky.
 Overall rating: 8/10

Bakery: Kilwins Ice Cream and Fudge
Menu: every ice cream imaginable plus brittles, fudges, froyo, candy, and homemade waffle cones.
Dish: Salted caramel ice cream (vanilla ice cream, chocolate caramel chunks, and ribboned with salted carmel on a homemade waffle cone.
Dish (appearance): they scooped up perfectly spherical scoops, and put probably four scoops on the cone. Because the ice cream had the chocolate chunks, they added bulk factor. It looked like the ice cream was attacking the cone!!!!
Dish (taste): the vanilla, salted Carmel, and chocolate was the slightest bit rich, but the nutmeggy, crispy cone paired it perfectly. I munched all the chocolate out in the first three seconds (it's been a long lent) so I had a lot of the 'scream. DELISH!! Best ice cream ever
Restaurant appearance: it wasn't the most pretty store, but they had racks and racks of Ganz trinkets like key covers and mood rings, which covered most of the store. So all you could basically see was the toy racks and and the white walls.
Overall rating: 10/10 ( the deliciousness overpowers every bad thing) Sorry for the long post!! Thanks!! BK

JUst the other day, I went out to dinner, and had the most AMAZING white, fluffy cake, vanilla ice cream, and delicious berry sauce. I was inspired. So... here's my recipe for my delicious berry sauce! i originally found this recipe online, but i tweaked it...

2 cups of frozen mixed berries
1 lemon
1/3 cup of sugar
1 TBS. of corn starch

Put lemon juice, berries, and sugar in a small pot, put on stove and medium/ high heat, and stir until well mixed, juices have formed, and everything is mixed. Then, quickly stir in the cornstarch. When the cornstarch is first mixed in, the juice at the bottom will turn lighter, but keep stirring, and breaking apart larger berries on a medium/high heat. One mixed and a darker purple color, take off heat, and pur over vanilla ice cream
